Hand Made Shaker – Flat Kitchen Broom

Our Kitchen Brooms are solid sweepers with an easy flex in the 12” of broomcorn below the stitching lines. Our beautiful hand made brooms are excellent for indoor or outdoor sweeping. They’re even pretty snappy for brushing the snow from your walkway in winter, like we do here in Maine.

All broomsticks are ‘ground-found’ in the forest and on the shores of lakes, rivers and streams. Some have even been hewn by beavers while collecting their winter feed that is made up of bark.

No two brooms are alike because they are hand made, and crafted around differently shaped broomsticks. The shape of the broomstick dictates how the broom will form at the neck/weaving area.

Adorned with ribbons and flowers, our brooms are perfect for weddings and celebrations.

Always hang your hand made broom after using, or stand it upside down on its handle to ensure broomcorn doesn’t get bent out of shape. If someone leaves your broom standing on its broomcorn and it does bend out of shape, soak broomcorn in warm water for about 20 minutes and hang by handle, the broomcorn should relax and hang straight again.
